Event Information

  • The event is located at City Oval Ballarat - 1431 Mair St, Lake Wendouree VIC 3350

  • Public transport is a great way to get to TDO!

    We will be running shuttle busses* to and from the event site at City Oval to Ballarat railway station.

    The drop off/pick up point at the event site will be near the pedestrian entry to the festival on Mair St.

    Please look out for the TDO signage at both Ballarat Station and City Oval for guidance. The shuttle bus is free and completely accessible.

    SHUTTLE

    The first bus will leave Ballarat station at 12.30pm, with a continual service running until 5.00pm (with a short break between 2.10pm – 2.40pm).

    Then, from 8.30pm buses will be running from City Oval to Ballarat Station until 11.00pm.

    TRAINS

    Trains arrive from Melbourne at the following times and will be met but shuttle buses:

    12.43pm
    1.43pm
    2.43pm
    3.43pm
    4.43pm

    The train arrives from Ararat at 12.08pm.

    And trains from Maryborough are not running.

    Please make sure to check public transport times personally as these can change at any time.

    A number of public buses operate throughout Ballarat, jump on the PTV website to plan your journey.

    Taxi, Uber, Drop Off/Pick Up:

    There will be a dedicated Drop Off / Pick Up Zone available within close proximity to the event entrance.

    ACCOMMODATION

    Ballarat has a variety of accommodation options available, we recommend visiting the Visit Ballarat website

  • General Admission tickets for Friends and Allies are $100.00 plus booking fees.

    Tickets for those enrolled with the First Peoples Assembly of Victoria are free, but registration is still compulsory as you will need a ticket for entry. For those who have registered their intent to enrol but have not yet enrolled, you will be required to enrol with one of our lovely staff at the gate on the day.

    Refunds are not available, with possible exemptions in the event of illness, COVID related matters and isolation requirements.

    This is an All-Ages event, patrons under 18 years must be directly accompanied by a parent/guardian. Alcohol will be available for purchase and can be consumed around the venue.

    Tickets will be available for purchase on the day of the event. The box office will be located at the front gate and main entry point and will be open from 1.00pm on March 2.

    Accessible toilets will be available on site. If you require any assistance on the day please ask one of our staff or security.

  • We’re expecting cool weather this Saturday. We strongly advise packing some warm clothing with you for the evening as it can feel quite chilly next to Lake Wendouree.

    Come prepared with appropriate attire for a day outside, sensible footwear and a jacket for the evening. There will be a cloakroom available on site to check your items during the day.

    This event will go ahead rain, hail or shine unless it is deemed dangerous or unsafe to go ahead.

  • This is an All-Ages event, patrons under 18 years must be directly accompanied by a parent/guardian. Alcohol will be available for purchase and can be consumed around the venue.

  • For safety reasons, once you’ve entered the point of entry, you will not be able to re-enter. There will be no pass outs permitted at this event unless in an emergency or medical situation. So please make sure to bring everything you need for the whole day/night.

  • Cloakroom facilities will be available.

  • Smoking is prohibited in all parts of the venue, excluding designated smoking areas.

  • Seating will not be provided to ticket holders. We highly recommend bringing along a rug/picnic blanket or portable fold up chairs such as camping chairs or low back chairs . (Please do not bring along lazyboy style layback chairs)

  • ● You may bring a small quantity of your own food/snacks in a cooler bag, small esky or picnic basket.

    ● You may bring SEALED plastic bottles of water or soft drink. No glass

    ● Fold up chairs and rug/picnic blanket

    ● Hat, sunscreen, rain poncho

  • ● Alcoholic beverages are not permitted to be brought into the venue, this event is strictly no BYO

    ● Glass of any kind is not permitted (including glass drink bottles)

    ● Illicit drugs or other similar substances

    ● Dogs or pets, with the only exception being service/assistance animals

    ● Generators, gas bottles, BBQs or any forms of cooking devices

  • There will be a range of food trucks with food and drinks available for purchase throughout the day including menu items for intolerances and vegetarian / vegan patrons. Alcohol will be available for purchase and can be consumed around the venue. Free drinking water will be available in the venue and patrons may bring in empty plastic bottles for this purpose. You may bring a small quantity of your own food/snacks in a cooler bag, small esky or picnic basket. You may bring SEALED plastic bottles of water or soft drink. No glass.

  • There will be a merchandise tent on site.

  • There will be no ATM on site so please bring cash and/or credit or debit card for payments.

  • First aid will be available at the event, if you feel unwell please visit the first aid tent.

  • You know the drill. Don’t come if you’re unwell. Please do a RAT test before coming. Be sensible and follow the health advice.

  • Yes, but we encourage you to support support the food trucks serving throughout the event.

  • No, security will be on site and conducting bag checks.

    The event has a liquor license so if you do bring in your own alcohol you risk a huge fine.

  • Yes, please bring a reusable water bottle to refill throughout the day.

  • There will not be power points available to the public.

    We suggest you bring a portable charging pack to the festival for your own personal use.

  • No, it wouldn’t be safe to bring any pets.

    If you have a service animal, please bring documentation to show the security on arrival.

  • Yes, you can. There will be bars on site, with non-alcoholic options also.

  • Yes, there are plenty of options for you to try and enjoy.

  • We can’t guarantee all points of sale will accept cash.

  • This event will go ahead rain, hail or shine unless it is deemed dangerous or unsafe to go ahead. It is advised that you check the weather prior to attending and come prepared for the elements with appropriate attire, sunscreen, hat, poncho/jacket etc. Please be aware the venue is a football oval and there is very little shade or cover.

  • Yes, no matter your age please bring ID

  • In the unfortunate event that you lose a family member there are festival crew in high vis around the site and security to assist.

    PARENTS/CARERS TIP: Gate staff can provide a wristband when you arrive on site. Use the wristband to write a contact number on, this way if the person gets lost their care giver can be easily found.

  • The festival HQ is the best place to go for any issues or concerns you may have. The team will ask you to fill in a form and share your contact details so that if and when the item is found you are contactable.

  • We want everyone to enjoy Treaty Day Out. If at anytime you feel unsafe please contact a team member straight away.

    We have security on site as well as event staff.

 

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

 

● Anyone who does not follow the current Victorian Government health and safety advice at the time of the event will be asked to leave the event 

● No dogs or pets are permitted into the venue, with the only exception being service/assistance animals.

● Management and Security reserves the right to inspect or search any clothing, bags, containers or packages you intend to bring into the venue. This includes a pat-down, bag search or inspection by screening equipment.

● Management, staff and Security reserve the right to refuse entry to any person, articles of clothing or items that present any risk of harm to persons or property.

● Alcoholic beverages and glass are not permitted to be brought into the venue.

● Any abuse towards security, staff, volunteers or fellow punters will not be tolerated.

● Weapons of any kind including glass, illicit drugs or similar substances are not permitted to be brought into the venue.

● Patrons who wish to consume alcohol in the venue may be requested to produce approved photographic proof of age identification.

● Any person found to be supplying or buying alcohol for a minor will be evicted from the event and handed over to police.

● Assembly staff/contractors will be filming and photographing the event - including shots of the crowd - and the resulting footage/photos may be used in future Assembly promotional and campaign materials.
